At Browney Academy we really do LOVE stories... so what better way to spend Valentine's Day than with the fantastic local story-teller, and author, Adam Bushnell.
As part of our Love Reading Week celebrations, we invited Adam into school yesterday for a special love-themed assembly, in which he shared with us his version of the epic love story of Rama and Sita.
During the day, love really was in the air as Adam inspired the KS2 classes to become love poets as they wrote poems about their love for Browney using figurative language techniques. Year 6 wrote sonnets while Years 4 and 5 created spells and recipes, all inspired by Shakespeare.
Adam then challenged the children to perform their creations as raps which was so much fun! The day ended with wonderful interactive story-telling sessions with the younger children themed around St George and The Dragon.
