Our princes and princesses in Reception had a busy day yesterday when they visited Durham castle as part of their 'can you read me a story?' topic.
The children were treat like royalty as they were given a guided tour around the castle, access to the cathedral and even provided with a tasty feast. We also took home jam-packed goodie bags and a huge cake (see below) - yum!
Castles have been a curiosity to us this term after noticing they featured in a lot of the fairytales we've been reading. Since then, we've made our own model castles and investigated the different features of a castle.
Huge thanks to Dillon's auntie, Lyndsey Traynor, who helped arranged the visit for us and to everyone else who made our visit so special.
