Former pupils Jeanette Tindale, Gillian Dougheety and Ann Richardson visited Browney Academy last week to take a trip down memory lane by looking through old school admission records to locate themselves and other former classmates. The ladies discussed many anecdotes from their time at Browney as pupils in the 1960s and had thoroughly enjoyed to opportunity to reminisce.

Gillian said: “It brings back happy memories looking through the log books and school records. It’s fantastic that they remain on the school site as otherwise due to my mobility issues I wouldn’t have been able to view them. I was very happy during my time at Browney. I especially loved the smell of the real Christmas tree and assemblies in the school hall.”

Jeanette added: “It was a happy, cosy, warm friendly school when I was here and it’s lovely to see that it’s still the same.

Our headteacher Ros said: “It was fantastic to meet three of our former pupils from the 1960s. They had so many stories to share and we look forward to our next school history topic, as we would love to invite them back into school to share their experiences with our current pupils.”
