Year 6 visit big school

Our Year 6 students recently made their first trip to big school to get a taste of what is in store for them next year.

The Year 6 students spent the day in the English department at Durham Community Business College (DCBC) where they learnt about the plight of homelessness and designed posters to help vulnerable people.

They also learnt loads of new facts about homeless people, one that stood out for them was that the number of homeless people would fill Wembley stadium one and a quarter times.

Miss Turner, Media Teacher at DCBC said "The pupils from Browney were fabulously behaved. They took everything on board, had good ideas and super sharp responses."

Ros Hutchinson said "The Year 6 children were a credit to our school during their visit to DCBC. They are now very keen to organize a charity event in aid of the homeless so watch this space!"

Erin said "I really enjoyed the day and I would visit again as the activities were so exciting."

Laila said "I have learnt excellent facts and I really enjoyed our day."

Owen said "I was given a box of chocolates by Miss Newman as it was my birthday the following day – she was so kind."
