World Book Day

Date Published:
Thursday 14 March 2024

Last week, we celebrated World Book Day in the most cosy and delightful way! Our school was filled with excitement as children came in wearing their favourite pyjamas or dressed as a character from their favourite books for this year’s theme, ‘Bedtime Stories.’

We transformed our classrooms into enchanting reading nooks and spent the day learning about and listening to many different stories. Children enjoyed a huge range of activities across the school; in some classes, pupils became library detectives, some went on reading scavenger hunts, and many designed their own World Book Day token!

One of the highlights of the day was our house group shared reading. Older children, acting as reading buddies, paired up with younger children in their house groups and then read their favourite books aloud to one another.

We loved celebrating our passion for books, and staff and pupils alike thought World Book Day this year was another wonderful opportunity to ignite our imaginations and nurture our love for literature.
