Uniform

Our uniform and personal appearance at Browney Academy is a reflection of our school's character. Wearing a uniform creates a sense of unity and pride and we ask that everyone, students, parents and carers, help to ensure that our school dress code is always observed.

The uniform is available to order now online or by filling in a paper form available to download below or from the school office.

Browney Academy V-neck jumper or cardigan.            

Required

Branded and purchased through the uniform supplier.

Shirt   

Required

White collared shirt with top button. This must be smartly tucked in.  Note: Shirts can be purchased from any high-street retailer.

Academy Tie            

Required

Branded Browney Academy tie.  Only available through the uniform supplier.

Trousers        

Required

Grey straight leg school trousers 

Skirt

Required

Grey pleated or straight knee length skirt.

Dress/Shorts

Optional

A blue gingham dress or grey shorts may be worn in the summer term.

Socks/Tights             

Required

Socks must be plain white or grey with trousers. Plain grey tights must be worn with skirts. Note: Can be purchased from any high-street retailer.

Shoes

Required

Plain black, formal, leather or leather style shoes which can be polished. No trainers, plimsolls, pumps, or boots. Note: Shoes can be purchased from any high-street retailer.

 

 

Outerwear

Outside Coats                      

 

Outside coats must be removed when entering the school building.  Note: Can be purchased from any high-street retailer.

Browney Academy Zip Fleece/waterproof jacket

Optional

Only available from the uniform supplier.

Caps         

 

Caps are not to be worn on academy premises.

Woollen Hats                       

Optional

May be worn between the autumn and spring half terms but must be removed when entering the school building.

Wellies and boots

Optional

Wellies and outdoor boots can be worn to travel to school in wetter weather, but children need to change into their school shoes on arrival.

 

PE kit

Branded PE tops can be purchased from the uniform supplier.

Bottoms  

Required

Navy shorts/tracksuit bottoms.  Note: It is required for students to have at least one of these items.

Hoodie

Only available from the uniform supplier.

PE footwear

Studded Boots

Note: Students can wear studded boots when participating in football matches.

Plimsolls, Converse, or canvas type shoes              

 

Note: Not suitable footwear for PE and should not be worn.

 

General appearance

Hair/Headwear

Long hair should be tied back. 

Hairbands, bobbles, and small bows should be plain blue, navy, and white. 

Religious head coverings are permitted and can be purchased from Emblematic.

The following are not permitted: 

• Hair dye/coloured streaks 

• Shaven hair design 

• Extreme haircuts 

• Shaven hair below a grade 2

Jewellery

On the grounds of health and safety, we advise that pupils do not wear jewellery to school (except for a watch). 

Watches and earrings must be removed for PE lessons –this is the responsibility of parents/carers to remove these before school.

Make-Up/Nails

Nail varnish and nails extension are not permitted in school. 

Make up is not allowed.
