Last week, our pupils celebrated European Christmas in our school bubbles. Each class explored the Christmas traditions of a different European country. On Thursday, we had a virtual assembly to share and celebrate the different customs of the countries around the world.
At the end of the assembly, some of our children who have lived in another part of the world or have the language or customs of another country, shared special accounts of how they celebrate Christmas at home.
Across school, children learnt a lot of interesting facts and were amazed at the variations of traditions! They are all very excited for Christmas now and are ready for the celebrations to begin - no matter where we live or who we are.
This all linked perfectly to our rights, particularly article 31: ‘Every child has the right to learn and use the language, customs and religion of their family.’
