Throughout October, the children at Browney Academy celebrated Black History Month by producing some fantastic writing and artwork!
Reception looked at Handa’s Surprise and created their very own African inspired jewellery as Year 1 looked at significant figures to create some beautiful artwork.
Year 2 studied Rosa Parks in depth before writing a report about her life. After this, the group transferred their writing skills to computing by producing some fantastic typed reports.
Year 3 studied Mary Seacole in addition to creating their very own African art using symmetry and bright colours. Meanwhile in Year 4, pupils created fantastic work on Black History Month and celebrated the achievements of black people from modern times and throughout history.
Year 5 each chose a black individual in history who had inspired them and produced some brilliant writing. Jack chose to write about Barack Obama and Olivia brailed out a fantastic piece about Rosa Parks.
Finally, our oldest children in Year 6 sketched some brilliant portraits of significant black people and produced written pieces of work based on an individual of their choice.
All of our children worked exceptionally hard and we are very proud of the work they produced during the important month.
