Pupils learn to speak out and stay safe

Yesterday our pupils welcomed Susan and Rowena from the NSPCC into school to deliver an assembly with the help of their mascot, Buddy the speech bubble.

As a Rights Respecting school, our children spoke confidently about Article 19, the right to be protected from harm and to have a happy and safe childhood.

Everyone watched a video and learned about different types of abuse to help identify when help is needed. The session reminded our children to speak out if they are worried, either to a trusted adult or Childline.

Here at Browney Academy, we want our children to feel empowered by knowing how to speak out and stay safe.
