Our Year 3 and 4 class have been building skyscrapers to learn about their new 'tremors' topic.
Pupils spent the afternoon exploring the cities of San Francisco and Tokyo, discovering how buildings are designed to withstand earthquakes.
With all this new and exciting information the children got to work to design and make their very own skyscrapers. Once complete, it was time to put them to the test on a tray of wobbly jelly to see how they responded to an earthquake.
The pupils had a lot of fun learning about this new topic, Evie said: “The dancing buildings would sway during an earthquake to stop them from falling down.” Anthony said: "My tower was the strongest as it had a square base sides made from triangles”.
All the children had a brilliant afternoon - well done!
