Yesterday Browney was visited by a school nurse to teach Year 1 and 2 all about keeping healthy.
Eating healthy, brushing teeth, sleeping 10-12 hours a night and exercising were just some of the topics the nurse discussed with the pupils. The main purpose of the visit, however, was hand washing.
When and why we need to wash our hands were some of the questions asked by the nurse, and the children came up with some excellent answers.
The pupils were then taught a new hand washing song and the best technique to make sure they are always germ free, before getting involved in a fun activity.
The nurse coated the children's hands in a UV fluorescent powder, to replicate germs. They then looked under the UV light to see the 'germs.' Next they went of to wash their hands using the new techniques they had been shown and came back to check them again.
The pupils had a lot of fun learning about hygiene and now know how to keep their hands squeaky clean.
Well done everyone!
