Each year, children are spending an increasing amount of time on the internet and Safer Internet Day aims to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
After a whole school e-safety assembly, every class got involved with exciting activities:
- Our reception class made 'Smartie' the penguin out of paper plates to help them learn the e-safety song... "Before you click, click, click, make sure you think, think think".
- Year 1 and 2 looked at the safety precautions you would take whilst visiting particular places and then looked at the different rules that may apply when visiting the same places online.
- Year 3 and 4 turned into agony aunts for the morning and wrote replies to a number of emails from worried internet users who had give away their passwords or had nasty comments from someone online.
- Our Year 5 and 6 class had a huge discussion in class before going away and researching e-safety. They then compiled all this information into a presentation which they will present to the rest of the school sometime this week.
We also had an emoji competition where pupils had to design their very own unique emoji... winners yet to be announced - watch this space for details.
Good job everyone. For more advice on internet safety please see here.
