We are looking to appoint a new facilities manager who is an enthusiastic and self-motivated person and who will play a key role in maintaining our school to ensure a welcoming and safe environment.
Applicants should have:
- proven experience in a facilities, caretaking or a closely related role
- trade skills sufficient for carrying out minor repairs and maintenance
- knowledge of facilities related health and safety legislation and risk assessment processes
- excellent communication skills and good IT skills
- the ability to motivate self and others to deliver high quality outcomes
- access to their own transport as this role may involve occasional travel to other trust sites.
Main duties:
- To be responsible for site security including locking-unlocking
- To line manage other facilities staff and ensure school is cleaned to a high standard.
- To carry out and document statutory compliance and maintenance activities.
- To manage external contractors.
- General portering activities.
- To be responsible for ensuring repairs and maintenance duties are undertaken and by competent with DIY and joinery.
- To be responsible for routine inspections of premises and health and safety risk assessments.
- Ensure all grounds are safe for use.
