Pupils massively exceed SATs standards

In a year when the new and significantly more difficult SATs have been rolled out across the country for the first time, Browney Academy are delighted to announce that their Year 6 students have achieved well beyond the national average.

Browney pupils excelled in all areas, but in particular, their grammar punctuation and spelling was a whopping 20% higher than the national average with a 92% pass rate. Reading results saw 83% of children pass, for writing it was also 83% and maths 75%.

We would like to thank parents and staff for their dedicated teamwork in supporting our children, but most of all pupils themselves for their superb levels of commitment, progress and achievement.

Although SATs are important, they are only a part of the primary school experience and every day we see the children at Browney excel in many other ways. They are creative and enthusiastic, they sing and dance, they help each other, they are kind and compassionate, they are curious and interested. They build things, make up stories, write poems, grow things, carry out experiments, play games and sports and 1000 other things.

Well done Year 6 – you know we are very proud of you all!
