We had an exciting visit to Gardening Club from one of our parents, David.
David kindly came into school to give our keen gardeners a very interesting talk on bonsai trees. He showed the club different varieties of the trees, including sapling, yew trees, windswept, formal and informal bonsais. Our children learned lots of new Japanese phrases like Yama Dori (meaning tree collectors) and Urbandori (meaning someone that recycles other people's trees).
Everyone was thrilled at the end of the session to receive their very own bonsai to plant and take home to keep!
