A virtual visit from children's author Adam Bushnell!

Our children were thrilled to welcome a special virtual visitor to Browney Academy - local author and storyteller Adam Bushell.
Adam kickstarted the day with his storytelling magic by whisking pupils off on one of his incredible adventures as he defeated a fire-breathing dragon. Afterwards, the children enjoyed an interactive question and answer session with Adam and his quiet companion - Jet the tortoise.

Throughout the day, each class had the pleasure of working with Adam to ignite their imaginations and inspire their writing. Early Years enjoyed a stomping and roaring dinosaur adventure before Years 1 and 2 set sail on a sea adventure as the pirates of Browney. Key Stage 2 children were swept into the wonderful world of William Shakespeare. Year 3 studied A Midsummer's Night Dream and wrote their own poems based on Bottom being turned into a donkey.  Years 4 and 5 wrote their own modern-day sonnets based on the famous Sonnet 18 before attempting to rap them. Our eldest children in Year 6 worked together to write their own poetry in the style of Shakespeare and designed their very own ghostly characters to include in their very own versions of Macbeth.

Our school always loves working with Adam and this session was no exception! Hopefully, we can welcome him to our lovely school in person next time. We can't wait...
