Browney Academy is delighted to present the first Word Millionaire of the year - Year 4's Alexander. Alexander, who achieved the one million word total before Easter, has now already read 1,272,888 words this school year!

Yesterday he was presented with a certificate, book voucher and a prestigious Word Millionaire pin badge. He has entered Millionaires' Row on our special reading display and we hope Alexander wears his pin badge every day with pride, recognising him as an outstanding reading role model.

Fellow Year 4 pupil, Sam, was delighted to exclusively interview Alexander in front of the class. Alexander said: "I was shellshocked and could barely believe it was me when it was announced." Sam discovered that Alexander's favourite author is JK Rowling and one of the books he read to achieve the award was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which Alexander describes as a 'pave slab' of a book, earning him a whopping 44 points towards his Accelerated Reader target! Alexander says that reading is fun and as we have Accelerated Reader at Browney Academy, it is exciting to test his knowledge on books as well as being invited to the award celebrations.

Everyone in the class is hoping Alexander can reach 2,000,000 words before the end of the school year! Who will be next in Millionaires' Row?
