On the 11th day, of the 11th month, at 11 o’clock, Browney stopped still to commemorate those who fought on behalf of their country, those who have died and those who came home.
Our Year 6 children delivered a moving assembly, outlining the importance of Remembrance Day and why we celebrate this special day. Each class made a poppy to be displayed in school and learned about why we wore poppies. After reading ‘Flanders Fields’, Lucas in Year 3 said: “We will always remember the people who have fallen in the war. Poppies will grow where your blood fell on the ground. We will always remember how you fell for us. Thank you, we love and respect you all.”
