This week our pupils have been taking part in Road Safety Week, focussing mainly on speed using the theme 'no need to speed'.
Speed contributes to more than one in five road crashes. So, we want everyone to learn that there is no need to speed and to find out why speed matters for safe and healthy journeys.
During the week the children took part in a range of activities and games and also designed plenty of posters. The week has an opportunity to reinforce key road safety messages to our children, reminding them to look and listen carefully before crossing roads in safe places.
We have also used this time to talk to our children about the health and environmental benefits of walking and cycling too!
