Pupils in Year 2 and 3 enjoyed exploring the Durham University Botanic Gardens on Tuesday.
Year 2 were thrilled to take part in a planting workshop, before looking closely at stick insects and cockroaches.
Year 3 relished learning about seed dispersal and pollination whilst examining weird and wonderful plants from around the world.
In the afternoon, pupils explored the rest of the gardens with the fantastic garden team who taught them about different trees.
After a wonderful day, pupils were excited to get back into the classroom to put what they have learned into practice.
