Plastic Pollution Challenge

Pupils from our school council, eco-warriors and rights champions have joined forces to enter the Premier League Primary Stars - Plastic Pollution Challenge.

The children involved (now named the Browney game changers) started to investigate our school plastic usage. They soon discovered that plastic straws were used by children who order school milk so they decided to make their pledge based on this.

They contacted our milk supplier and discussed different options of straws with them. They held a focus group and tested out alternatives such as re-usable straws, paper straws and even pasta straws!

Their investigations on the best alternative are ongoing, once they have all the feedback, the new straw will be rolled out across the whole school.

Their attempts at reducing plastic pollution will be entered into the competition - good luck - you have worked very hard for this!
