A special visitor...

Last week we welcomed a special visitor into school - Mathu from Tamil Nadu in India.

Mathu came into our school and spoke about his life in India and how it is very different from ours, from the difference in the weather to how his house is made from wood rather than bricks. He showed everyone some fantastic pictures and shared lots of great information about his Indian culture.

Mathu explained that when he invites friends to his house they all sit on a mat on the floor and eat their food from banana leaves rather than plates like we do in the UK. Outside of Mathu's house you may find lizards, snakes, cows, mongoose and many other animals!

The children looked at a picture of Mathu's 'Hindu temple' which is a small table in his home with statues of Hindu Gods on. The children found his stories very interesting and were fascinated by his culture and how it differs from their own.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed Mathu's visit and hopes he will visit again!
