Classroom based support assistant - HLTA

Required as soon as possible (fixed term until July 31 2018)
Have you got a passion for supporting and assisting quality learning in the classroom? Are you able to bring enthusiasm and creativity to your learning activities which are capable of instilling a love of learning in our students? Can you adapt learning activities enabling all abilities to participate in an engaging learning experience?

Browney Academy is a thriving primary school on the outskirts of Durham, a proud member of the North East Learning Trust and warmly considered to be ‘the small school with the big heart’.

About the role

We are looking for someone who can provide support for students and teachers and contribute to raising standards. This will involve undertaking a range of learning activities under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. As a HLTA at Browney Academy, you will also be responsible for providing cover for PPA across the school and be an important part of a small, professional team.    

We would be delighted to hear from you if you have:

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Certificate (status) OR Relevant qualification at NVQ Level 4
  • Experience of delivering effective learning activities in the classroom
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
  • Experience of working with children of a relevant age in a learning environment
