Year 5/6 have fun at Kingsway residential

Last week, our brave adventurers in Year 5 and 6 packed their bags and went on a two night trip to Kingsway Adventure Centre in Barnard Castle.

After arriving on Wednesday, the children got stuck straight in and went gauge walking along the river in wetsuits. Everyone was extremely brave, even when doing jumps and swinging out under the waterfall (wearing a harness of course!).

Back at the centre they completed team building games and a scavenger hunt before working in pairs the next day to compete in a crate building competition. The bravest of the pair built the tower of crates while the other member held the harness. Oakley and Harvey won with a staggering 17 crates!

Next up was raft building; the children all worked together to build a raft before testing it out in the river. To finish the week, we enjoyed a huge outdoor slip and slide back at the centre.

Each day ended with a lovely hot chocolate and giggles before bedtime.

Well done to all our pupils who displayed excellent behaviour and team work throughout the trip!
