Roald Dahl day

Earlier this week, we celebrated the work of Roald Dahl on what would have been his 100th birthday by dressing up as our favourite characters from his stories.

Roald Dahl was a British novelist, who sold more than 250 million copies of his books worldwide. Some of his most popular books include: James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The Witches, Fantastic Mr Fox, The BFG and more.

To celebrate, all lessons were focused on Roald Dahl's fantastic stories:

  • Reception created a crocodile picture using hand prints inspired by The Enormous Crocodile
  • Years 1/2 went on a Willy Wonka scavenger hunt during maths, following clues to find the stolen sweets
  • Years 3/4 created recipes in literacy based on George's Marvellous Medicine
  • Years 5/6 (inspired by Adam Bushnell) created ten word summaries of their favourite Roald Dahl books and how they made them feel.

All in all it was a fun day - thanks to everyone who dressed up, you all looked fantastic!
