Students and staff transformed into mythical characters last week as we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as characters from Alice in Wonderland.

As well as dressing up, students took part in a variety of reading themed activities throughout the day including:

  • Whole school assembly where pupils stood up and talked about their favourite books.
  • Activities in class including; making books, writing poems, creating character models and more.
  • Browney book share - older students visited our younger students and read to them.
  • The big read - parents were invited in to school to read with their child.

World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. It is designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

Huge thanks to staff and students for joining in and making it a day to remember. Take a look at some pictures here.
