On Tuesday we celebrated Belgium Pancake Day, know as la Chandeleur, which marks the end of the Christmas period and celebrates the beginning of the end of winter.
Long ago people believed that if flour was left at the end of the winter it was a bad omen so people would use the flour to make pancakes. In the UK, we celebrate Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday next week on 9 February, so no doubt we will all be enjoying the tasty snack again soon.
They definitely went down a treat as there wasn't even a crumb left. Huge thanks to Eloise for bringing them in for us to enjoy.
