Year 5 and 6 pupils have become the first group of students to take part in a North East Learning Trust inter-school visit when they embarked on an outing to partner school, Teesdale School and Sixth Form, this week.
The cross country trip saw 14 pupils take part in a design and technology workshop with older students at the Barnard Castle school.
Browney pupils were treated to life in 'big school' for the morning where they got to take part in lots of exciting activities designed to help ease the transition to secondary education.
The highlight of the day was creating illuminating ginger bread men Christmas toys which tested pupils' dexterity and concentration and introduced them to new technical equipment and engineering and electronics skills.
Ms Ellis, headteacher at Teesdale School said: "It was wonderful to have pupils from Browney visit us to experience life in a very different school environment. Our own older pupils very much enjoyed taking the younger students under their wing, introducing them to new learning experiences and calming any nerves about their transition into secondary school. The childen were delightful and are welcome back any time!"
