A day on the farm...

Year 1 and 2 pulled on their wellies and rain coats yesterday to enjoy a day at Broom House Farm.

They saw pigs with their piglets, sheep, cows, ducks, a turkey and some chickens. They went into the hen house and found eggs that had been laid; watched the sheep being weighed and witnessed Bobo the sheep dog rounding the sheep up.

They learned loads of new facts about the animals on the farm too such as: did you know they feed their hens small stones? They need to eat stones to help grind up food in their tummy because they have no teeth. The stones help make the shell of the egg hard.

The highlight of the day was the forest trail - we had so much fun finding the little doors and climbing on the tree trunks.
