World Book Day at Browney

On Thursday 5 March, Browney celebrated World Book Day. This year, we decided that the theme for World Book Day would be David Walliams books. Throughout the week, the children completed work linked to books written by David Walliams and on Thursday they came to school dressed as their favourite characters. The staff joined in too!

World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. It is designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

Book prizes were given to the children judged to have the best costume from each class:

  • Swallows - Evie G and Ryan
  • Robins - Mason  and Layla
  • Linnets - Oakley and Thomas
  • Swifts - Molly and Kieran

Children have also been taking part in a sponsored read in order to raise money for resources for the school library. We will find out how much has been raised next week!
