Year 6 pupils planned a sponsored onesie walk around the school yard last week raising over £400 for local homeless charity, Moving On, based in Durham.

Pupils were inspired to complete the walk following a recent trip to Durham Community Business College where they learned about the issue of homelessness which included people in their own community.

Everyone was excited to be dressed in their onesies while they were in school and enjoyed every second of it completing laps of the school yard for 15 minutes dressed in their onesies -  even the teachers joined in! Everyone warmed up with a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows after the event as it was pretty chilly outside!

Mrs Fildes said: “I am very proud that the pupils in year six have worked hard to plan this event. They have taken an issue that they feel passionately about and they have done something positive to help."

All the money raised will be donated to Moving On Durham where it will be used to help people who are not as lucky as we are.
