Sue Ryland from Moving On in Durham visited Browney earlier this week to do an assembly about homelessness prior to our onesie walk on Friday.
The aim of the assembly was to inform pupils of the work carried out by the charity and to get the children thinking about who they will be helping by gathering sponsors for the onesie walk.
We found out that Moving On help people between 16-25 to find homes. They also help them to cook healthy meals and find work so that they can begin to take care of themselves. Find out more about the Moving On charity here.
Sue Ryland, Moving On Durham said “A huge thank you to Browney Academy for donating to our charity. It’s through the kindness of such donations that we can provide services to young homeless people across our county.”
Mrs Fildes said “I am very proud that the children in Swifts class have worked so hard to organise a sponsored event so that we are able to support charities in our local area. We are all looking forward to the onesie walk, which takes place on Friday.”
