Our Year 5/6 Linnets were recently treated to a day in 'big school' with a visit to Fyndoune Academy.
Linnets made their own fireworks and ghost-slime (think Ghostbusters) and designed and made their own seeds to travel in the wind. The object of the visit was to further enhance their scientific knowledge using equipment that only a secondary school can offer such as bunsen burners and chemicals.
Katie said: "We were dealing with chemicals to make the ghost slime, so we had to be careful to add the borax at a very slow rate. We had to make sure we stirred very quickly too!”
George said: "Using the Bunsen burners at Fyndoune was amazing!”
Mr Vasey added: "The children were able to enjoy a day packed with learning and have lots of fun in the process!”
A big thank you to the staff and pupils at Fyndoune for making us so welcome and for treating us to such an interesting day.
