It's World Book Day and once again there are plenty of activities going on at Browney Academy.

Everyone (staff included) rolled into school in their best pjs and enjoyed an all day breakfast for lunch before taking part in World Book Day activities including:

  • Reception completed activities based around Julia Donaldson books.
  • Year 1 and 2 wrote book reviews on Julia Donaldson's books.
  • Year 3 and 4 wrote a story about volcanoes with Mr Farrow.
  • Year 5 and 6 rewrote the greatest book ever written - the bible, producing their own copy with characters, map, traditions and the story of Jesus in the desert.

World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

This is the 20th year there’s been a World Book Day, and on 2nd March 2017 children of all ages are encouraged to explore the pleasures of books and reading.
